Tom and his team do an excellent job for a very reasonable price. My lawn, which was 3 year old sod, was seriously infested with crabgrass and just looking kind of weak. My lawn service guy suggested that I call Lawn Doctor so I did that fall. By the spring we had no more crabgrass, our bermuda infestation was calming way down and the grass was super green and healthy again. It has stayed that way since. We are super happy! They always send a note telling me which day they are coming to treat the lawn, they show up like clockwork, and if I have a question, Tom returns my call within hours, not days. I highly recommend Lawn Doctor of North County Coastal. Good people doing good work for a reasonable price. A great value, which is hard to find these days! ~ Dana S

Working with Lawn Doctor has been a godsend. They took my lawn from a 4 to a 10 in a matter of months. I get compliments on how beautiful my lawn looks all of the time. I honestly have the healthiest lawn on the block, which can be difficult to accomplish in sunny San Diego! This is all due to my hiring Lawn Doctor for routine lawn service. More like Lawn Surgeon! I was going to rip out my old lawn and start over but Lawn Doctor turned it around in no time. If you’re struggling with trying to make your lawn look good then try Lawn Doctor. By the time you add up the cost of fertilizers, weed control and insecticides you’re wasting your time and money and it still won’t look as good because Lawn Doctor can use products you can’t purchase! They will advise you on important items, such as mower height, water consumption, etc. They know when it’s time to spray for grubs and other nasty critters, control different types of weeds, perform aeration, and seed. If you’re burned out on lawn care or don’t have the time then try Lawn Doctor. ~ John O

I HIGHLY recommend Tom and his team. First, he is SUPER knowledgeable and engaging -- he really took the time to understand our concerns and to help me understand what was needed to remedy the issues we were having (grubs and browned spots). Second, and most importantly, he was responsive, professional, and reassuring. I'm a communication and detail guy and Tom surpassed all expectations. And his invoice was, candidly, too low (I asked if I could pay more and he said "I wasn't expecting this much work, but I honor my quotes"). I was experiencing issues regarding my tall fescue grass that was recently sodded. So, I first reached out to some landscapers who told me everyone’s grass goes yellow at this time of year, and that I should just keep watering until the issue goes away. Then, I contacted Tom Taylor at Lawn Doctor, and I was refreshed to receive more helpful information. Over the past decade we've downsized our lawn considerably to save water. If we were going to keep any lawn we wanted it to look good and feel good for the kids and dogs. Lawn Doctor serviced a couple neighbors' lawns and they always, always looked better than mine so I gave Lawn Doctor a call. Over the last 40 years, I’ve used at least a dozen different landscapers and lawn service companies. Despite that, we always had a number of browned out areas in the backyard. I was referred to the Lawn Doctor about a year ago. I was impressed that Tom was quite knowledgeable and confident that he could give us a green lawn. My lawn was knocking on death's door a year ago. We looked into having it replaced with new sod but that's costly. My neighbor recommended Lawn Doctor and I'm so glad he did. Tom came over and told me he could resuscitate it but it would take time. Within 4-5 months, my clovers and weeks had disappeared and I had a front yard of green grass for a fraction of the cost of re-sodding. We were having a problem with crab grass and other types of weeds. We decided to try a service and first tried Tru Green. But they were impossible to work with! All we ever got on the phone was a sales rep trying to sell us another service and could never communicate with an actual service rep or technician. So after getting the run-around for 3+ months, we canx before even getting our first treatment because it was impossible to work with them. Fortunately a local landscape supply store recommended Tom with Lawn Doctor to our property manager. He's been GREAT! He has been extremely helpful and responsive to any, and all, of our questions and concerns. He promised us that if we followed his recommended treatment plan, crab grass would no longer be an issue. And true to his word, we have not had one spec of crab grass since we've been with Tom. Our lawn has never looked better! Tom has also been very open and helpful in working with our landscaper. I have used North County Coastal Lawn Doctor for years, at two different residences and they do such a wonderful job keeping the lawn healthy, lush and weed-free. It's visibly evident how healthy my lawn is in comparison to most others on our street! I appreciate that they always send an email the day prior to service so I can lock my pets inside. Lastly, they blow any errant fertilizers off the concrete back onto the lawn to avoid staining the sidewalks. ~ Marla E

I really like having this service! I was never very good at keeping a schedule with fertilizing my lawn, and hated keeping all of the chemicals and equipment around. Now my lawn is green year round. The service helps with most weeds, but some weeds (like Dallas grass) are very invasive and hard to control, so that's still a challenge. But, at least both weeds and grass are healthy green, and my yard looks very nice! ~ Barb H

Three years ago we installed sod and the lawn looked beautiful. After several months weeds infiltrated sections of the yard and I was not familiar with them so I was not sure how to eradicate them. Tom is fantastic. He basically established a whole new lawn for us by first power-seeding, then by maintaining through regular fertilizing and weed control. He also referred us to a great sprinkler installer to ensure we had adequate irrigation.
